The supervision system IPS Cloud is a powerful cloud-based scada platform designed to improve control, optimize efficiency and reduce production line costs.
The aim is to create a network that allows communication between field devices and remote controllers. IPS Cloud has many tools designed to monitor, analyze and track the production; the powerful and intuitive dashboard can be reached from any desktop or mobile device connected to the internet.
Data collection is carried out by a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connecting field devices to the Internet through the IPS router. This connection can be done by the wired network, wifi or 4G.
Users can access the supervision dashboard through a Web browser using desktop or mobile devices. A safe HTTPS internet connection is used for this purpose.
IPS Cloud returns to the user both data collected from the field and those processed by the platform; this information can be collected in various formats, it is also possible to connect the interface to the main databases.
Compared to a traditional supervision, IPS Cloud has considerable advantages in terms of remote connectivity; it is possible to log into supervision from different workstations such as PCs, smartphones and tablets. The user management allows the system administrator to define different levels of access and operation . The multi-user connectivity also allows the contemporary use of supervision by multiple operators in asynchronous mode.
The supervision platform is totally separated from HMI devices installed on site and does not use their resources. The graphics and the features available for the user don’t use existing supervisions or web servers embedded in local hardware devices, but connect directly with the system controller (PLC). Are so available functions dedicated to the customer needs and a next-generation graphic dashboard.
IPS Cloud allows users to not install local PCs or software, as the required resources for supervision use are supplied by the cloud provider. All updates concerning the operating system, platform upgrade or security are managed in automatic, without causing service interruptions. Data backup is done periodically and automatically on the cloud, providing maximum security in terms of privacy and reliability.
Security in data transmission is crucial in a supervision system where connections are made remotely.
IPS Cloud uses the most modern cryptographic protocols, through which is ensured the highest level of security and privacy of data and communications.
The cloud infrastructure also ensures, through the use of advanced monitoring systems, protection from the most common security threats directed towards the services exposed on the public network
Service login is done through authentication, the credentials provided are unique and the operator access level is defined by the assigned role.
To connect the IPS Cloud platform to the field controllers is provided a dedicated router which creates a secure VPN (Virtual Private Network) through an internet network. This connection can be made using a wired network, wifi or 3G.
All devices connected using IP protocol to the IPS router LAN are accessible from the platform.
The IPS router will be set to fit to the existing network, therefore does not require any changes; the device can be used with HTTP proxy also with authentication.
